Nice report! I enjoyed it for those same reasons including how it overlooks Scranton, what many might consider one of the most unexotic places in the U.S. As described in my mag article eight years ago, we made a fun weekend of it -- skiing Saturday at Montage, overnighting in Hilton hotel...

@ciscokid good point about birch beer. FYI: growing up in CNY, it was rare to see an A&W branch so whenever we drove by this one while visiting family, it felt very exotic -- and we figured that Cortland was so happenin' to have one.

Belle was never the same after the departure of Tony Lanza. Since they put in the gondola and put out the fires in Overlook, it's dead to me.

Excellent report. Not to be too literal, but given the Iroquois Nation map, do you know why it's named Mohawk Mountain given the location in northwestern CT?

That's a great deal. I'd definitely do that. Why do they use stock photos of the Alps to (false) advertise it on the SkiCNY website, below? That drives me nuts when northeastern mountains do that. Be proud of what you have and post a representative pic!
