Cool house for sale in NVT

My sister and BIL are selling their beloved house in Montgomery, VT. Cool and funky house, 15 minute drive from Stateside parking at Jay Peak, 30 second walk from trout stream, sleeps many, could be great full-time residence or seasonal house: https://s.paragonrels.com/goto/F74mo5

    New Gear for this Season

+1 on the Kore series. My brother has the Kore 93, he really likes them and it is his only ski for all conditions at Jay. Elan Ripsticks get great reviews as well, I likely would have bought a pair of those in I didn't find the deal on the Mindbender C, which might be another ski to consider.

    New Gear for this Season

Well, you and MC2 may remember the Blogger Summit events, where I skied locked down at the resort and freeheel on the BC days. This has been the pattern for a long time, so should be no surprise. If I were to freeheel at the resort, that would require a switch to NTN, which quite honestly, is...

    New Gear for this Season

MC2 is apparently not a K2 fan, or perhaps the return to the dark side. I must admit, I test drove a pair of Mindbender TIs, and found them wholly unremrkable. I have high hopes for the carbon verson, and the price was right, so there you are.

    New Gear for this Season

This is my first foray into carbon skis, after a long love affair with metal skis. Should be interesting.

    New Gear for this Season

Just walked in to a great deal on a pair of K2 Mindbender 96 Cs. Looking forward to skiing these boards, from the review it seems like a fine ski for old guys like me. Despite my telemark heritage, these will be mounted alpine: K2 Mindbender 96C review

    The Incredible Music Thread

Twenty minutes of your musical life that will not be wasted. I still vividly recall this live at the Montreal Forum in the mid-70s. Heart was the opening act. It was really loud.

    The Incredible Music Thread

Further to the death of Robbie Robertson, another music legend is gone this week, though he was a little late in becoming legendary. If you don't know the story of Sixto Rodrigues, look it up, what a comeback from the presumed dead. And look for the documentary "Searching for Sugarman," it was...

One word, Kevlar. Or even carbon.

The truck cap probably weighs about the same as your giant plastic kayak, and is equally awkward.

    The Truck Thread

Trucks are getting silly these days. More room for passengers than stuff in the the bed! Our late and lamented 2003 Tacoma had a six foot bed. Insert "old man yells at cloud" picture here.

    The Truck Thread

Undo the clamps, get in the bed, stand up and carry it off towards the back of the truck. Set carefully on 2x4s or whatever. Reverse procedure to get it back on, more difficult since you are going uphill. Hardest part is getting it lined up on the truck box.

    The Truck Thread

I think it all depends how you use your truck. We've had caps on our last four trucks (2wd Taco, 4wd Mazda, 2wd Nissan, 4wd Taco - all RIP) and never regretted having one. Great for keeping stuff dry and contained and no problemo going to the dump. On the few times the cap was in in the way, it...
