    Gore Mountain Conditions

I thought I saw you at the Bowl Harv...Top 5 day today and I didn't make it past Burnt Ridge. Boreas early was interesting but I was texting buddies to get in there to ski it in. I did my share of breaking down the crust. Barkeater was prime right from the beginning. The only other trails I...

    Whiteface Conditions

I was there yesterday and the Wilmintgon trail was the best top to bottom. I left at noon and everything above the middle of the mountain on the Whiteface and little Whiteface side was frozen cord...Loud! A guy I rode up with on the Gondi said he heard the lookout lift was open, I said no way...

What is your favorite ski area close to ALB?

I live just west of Saratoga (Saratoga school district) and it takes me an hour. The Orda pass works best for me because I do work in Lake Placid and my office is near Belle. Gore is my favorite for close. West and Willard are the closest but they don't have what I want. I taught for a year...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

So Bertha's last day was a good one. My favorites were Darkside Glade and ChatiHawk Line early,,,they got skied hard today. Rumor fun and edgeable Lies, closed by 2 (ice rink). Bertha is being replaced by an unnamed as of yet, Pathfinder. Back to booting up in the lodge i guess, Very...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

After 8+ years and 279,000 miles Bertha (my 2014 Ram 1500) is going into retirement. Tomorrow may very well be her last day at Gore. Since Covid she has been my base lodge. Not a better place than the bowl to say fairwell. I will have the skis to ski Hudson tomorrow lol. If it's really good...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

There is plenty of snow on it. It was sort of open on Monday(from the old entrance) and skied great. The new entrance has a pipe they need to bury before they can open it. Today from first chair was pretty awesome. Foxlair first trax was my fave. I quite enjoyed Chatti in that brownish snow.

    New Gore Trail

I skied it on Saturday and really liked it despite the millions of people over there. I skied today boo hoo that Burnt Ridge was closed. Lies with perfect cord first thing and the line under the Straightbrook chair and my fave of the day, Dark Side Glade!. There is plenty open to have fun on...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I moved around a lot today. Had a new Gore fan with me today(relative) and showed her around. We got 15k by the time Beck's opened and only waited on two lines. Worst one was Top Ridge. I really like the Backwoods trail. It will F up Barkeater but maybe preserve Abanake. My pick of today...

    Belleayre Conditions

Belle was my pick of the day. We even got a little bumpline in the sugar by 2pm on skiers right. If you poked around there were some decent bumps...and some seriously awful. I enjoyed my 3 hour lunch break today. Seneca skiers right was my second favorite.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Today was OK...Hullabaloo(groomed) and Darby(ungroomed) were fun, everything else was fast and firm...and then they opened Lies! Incredible

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I know the thread was broken out, but I am planning on skiing tomorrow so I looked at the Gore conditions....knowing what I know from yesterday, suds will be on Open pit until I can't stand anymore. Tomorrow will have something for everyone...it's getting thin but at Gore, you can almost always...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Don't Go and you won't know. Mad River (my absolute favorite mountain in the east) doesn't have near the fire power of Gore's snowmaking. Wild Air has a shit ton of snow and quicksilver was holding up well for the bottom. Didn't ski twister or sunway to the end. Showcase isn't going to make...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

The word of the day...Inversion! Anyone who ventured to the top knows you have to go to know. When they dropped the rope to top ridge the ski patroler said you could only go Uncas to straightbrook. Everybody listed but us...there was no rope so we did top ridge. We got first track but there...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I had a wonderful experience this morning at Gore. I did ride the Gondola more today than any other this year (3) and actually rode the North chair 4 times (omg). I had undoubtably my best run of the year...good call Cork and thanks for sharing this GlOREous day with us... and didn't notice...

    Belleayre Conditions

I skied Belle yesterday and was quite impressed with both the amount of coverage and the amount of open terrain. Seneca was my go to lapping it until late and it never got as icy as the rest of the mountain. One exception was Deer Run which is to be expected since it was less steep. I only...
