    Gore Mountain Conditions

Barkeater has been the run all week. Although it is cut up now with Backwoods, the benefit is it gets snowmaking from Backwoods. Just like KHS...woods litmus tests. I have to work with my boss the next two days...bummer

I love all the talk about spending...It is NYS, if you don't like it go ski a private resort ANYWHERE else. It's a quirky mountain that makes no sense in some of their decisions, but we are skiing on a lot of trails that in previous years, wouldn't be open. Today was solid...A good cold ski...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I skied Saturday and Monday. The Sunday of MLK Day is notoriously the busiest day of the year. The rain was crazy Saturday morning but there were still quite a few people. I wanted to ski double barrel but never got a chance with all the people on it. I was lucky enough to get an unaccosted...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Not enough...great skiing early, super packed but having the AE as the only lift to get up...the slopes were crowded but manageable. We need white not wet this week

Pray for snow folks. With the Gondi down we NEED the Burnt Ridge chair. They were working hard on Echo.... Today wasn't bad but weekend crowds could be a shitshow.

Right from the website...cough cough... HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Winter’s back in action! Temperatures are finally in our favor, and the snowmakers are back to making snow! They are blowing on Hawkeye, Lies, The Arena, The Wood Lots, Echo, and Wood In! Hopefully sooner now

Uh Oh As of today's end of day report, Gondi not running tomorrow. No Bear or Summit if we believe this report.

Gore Ski Rule #13 Check Basecam Before Leaving Summit I concur with Harv's assessment. Not great but we'll be back tomorrow. Of note is the snow cloud created by the snowmaking, accumulating in Wevertown. Maybe Hawkeye tomorrow ungroomed?

Best Slopes for Beginners near Westchester

When are you thinking? The snow is going to be your biggest obstacle. I think Belle has the best snow in rough times and they give the novice skier the best experience. I skied it, probably for the last time, a couple of weeks ago and the amount and quality they had open amazed me. I am a...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Conditions yesterday and today were really nice considering the rain. Well groomed and fast. No bumps anywhere :( I did have fun. They are blowing the heck out of Chati, Cloud and Headwaters. Topridge was my favorite both mornings. Uncas was better today than yesterday and Pine Knot is...

    Gore vs Belleayre

Thus far I have skied all three and my favorite day was last Friday at Belleayre. Smaller and more compact, I have found they have more and better trails than the other two. Shorter runs, yes, but having Seneca open early is like Rumor at Gore and Skyward at Whiteface...neither of the latter...

    Whiteface Conditions

The summit conditions were posted on the summit lift shack...ungroomed and zero visibility. Parons was skiing by braile but was pretty good today. The top had something falling and it seemed to help the skiing. The lower part of Essex was open with a sort of bump line. A full cycle of Gondi...

I can ski at any open mountain in VT on Friday...

    My vote would be Sugarbush

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Today was pretty awesome. I don't like taking my skis off much so I went straight to Tahawus and was blessed with two inches of powder over groomed...it started a bit scary with frozen groomed and then it was just bliss. I hate that kind of skiing but I am getting older. I kept doing that...

    Whiteface Conditions

Happy Belated Halloween. I didn't know where to put this but it fits here. I got my October turns in my attempt to ski every month in my first year of my 7th decade...This gives you a good idea how far skiing was available. From my phone data I walked 7.5 miles and skied just under 3. 3...

    New Gear for this Season

I can't help you Jason...I still have 2.5 pair of Pre RTM AC 50s..Maybe I could use some help finding a new ski too. They may be heavy and stiff, but they get me out of trouble. I always know I have them under me.

If you are thinking of going this weekend GO! There is still a good size glacier at the top. Absolutely no bare spots of note today. Ski on Ski Off the lifts. Bumps! I think they could make June if they want to.
