I've always hoped Hickory could be this, but alas snowmaking is now a requirement for skiing in the NE, and as many have pointed out, cheapskate skinners won't want to pay for that.

It still seems like they have a lot of trails closed based on the website. I thought they had snowmaking on every run.

Please be more specific. Long flat approaches to steeps? Vegetation is too thick (not actually a terrain problem)? Whiteface allows it, correct? Why is this not consistent across the ORDA hills?

Why can't it be and instead of or. In VT the snowmobile trails form an access network that bc skiers use and benefit from. I'm sure a tree has never been cut down to build a snowmobile trail.

Who currently owns Hickory? Are there any plans to open it to the public in some capacity. Weren't there rumors that a backcountry model was under consideration? Maybe that was just my imagination.

Same. I use these everyday here in SW Montana. I keep liners in my pockets for when it goes to single digits or below. I recommend snow sealing them at the beginning of each season. They aren't great when when wet which is a consideration for the NE. Fancier synthetics, Goretex, etc. are better...
