    Woods Valley 02/10 Powder Night

Made sure to sneak out of work a little early last Wednesday to get first chair at 4. Just a classic Woods night, with 6 to 8 inches of fresh snow. Was able to take a couple laps through the glades before it go dark. Woods has done an awesome job of maintaining these glades and opening them up...

    Greek Peak Conditions

@Ethan Snow always love these old maps. I'm also interested in this lift VI, all the times I've been on the east side I've never seen any remnants. I had season pass at GP between 2009 and 2013. They've made a lot of improvements since just then.

    Toggenburg Conditions

Super nice today. Pack pow groomers and blue skies. Operations is telling me 3 feet in the last 3 days. Definitely scored some fresh tracks in trees. Most knee deep or higher

    Holiday Valley Conditions

Last weekend Friday and Saturday was prime. 6 inches of lake effect with already packed powder conditions. Was able to get into the Gobbler glades and Devils glen. Coverage was great and there were deep stashes in the trees. After this recent storm they must be in great condition.

Touring in the Gunks, NY: Dec 2020

Niceee. In Utica we have the abandoned Val Bialas ski center in the middle of town. It's around 500 vertical, so more than enough for my lift riding ass. When its deep, I'll hike up with the snow shoes and ride down on the Snow Surfer aka noboard. aka snurfer. Have made some real fun turns the...

    Snowboard Base Repair

Come on boys! I gotta ride this weekend lol. I ended up cleaning up the gouges with a very fine grit sandpaper and did a little waxing to smooth it out. Looks like I'm taking it to the shop on Monday

    Snowboard Base Repair

Ok after a little low tide riding on Thursday, I need advice on making a base repair. I've done all my own repairs in the past but I'm not sure how to approach this damage. Usually when I have damage, I can cut the gouge clean and decide whether it needs to be filled in. I'm not majorly...

    Belleayre Conditions

It was pretty sweet conditions. I talked to patrol they only had 6 guys on staff yesterday, they were upset with management. Snow was so light and fluffy that without a proper base it was a little low tide in spots. I'll send you the repair bill @Harvey hahaha

Top 3 Best Lifts in NYS?

Had a season to greek during college at Bing and yea chair 4 does serve some gnarley terrain(when its open). Also chair 5 to east side is awesome when its open, loved to park there and start. But i think Chair 2 gets all my love. I mean look at those towers, how are they still standing. It used...

Top 3 Best Lifts in NYS?

Honestly can't picture any at Song, Lab or Tog but the old side by side quads at swain is Gnarley. Obviously my favorites are the Hall Double at Mccauley and the dark side double at Gore (RIP). Bristol has almost high speed lifts and the galaxy quad is pretty sweet....

    Woods Valley Upgrades

Yea they aren't usually open Monday and Tues and only open at 4 on Wednesday. They cut the valhalla and valkyrie glades a few years ago. They aren't super long but when its deep they have a decent pitch to enjoy it.

    Tales from The Road

I was with some friends last year headed to Jay Peak. I was going to take a nap in the back seat and I told my friends who were driving to make sure they don't miss the last exit before canada. So of course I wake up in line for the border patrol. On top of that my driver decides to pull a...

    Woods Valley Upgrades

If you know me I call home base Woods Valley in Westernville NY. The little mountain is only 15 minutes from work so I usually get up for night skiing and slow weekends. I swung by yesterday to pick up my pass and was able to tour the renovation. Since the mountain was repurchased by the Woods...

    NYS Terrain Park Thread

Ok park Rats. I've been getting hyped during the off season seeing what all the resorts are working on. NY has really upped it's park game the last few years. What's your take on best park in the state? Bristol made a massive move a year ago and shifted their large park aka High Points to the...

    Song, Labrador and Toggenburg

From what I recall Labrador has a little more terrain than the other two. Skiers right, the "South Peak" has some decent pitch. Toggenburg had a solid reputuation for having the best terrain park in the area. If you ever ski Song at night... bring a headlamp.
