ORDA to build septic system for North Creek Ski Bowl

I’m sure this will go well. *drinks unboiled water from the Saddle Lodge ☠️

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Definitely a tough job, but more important now with changes in winter weather/climate. ORDA has to find a way to attract and keep people that want to do it (more $, housing, work culture, etc) in an industry that is way more reliant on man-made snow now. Again, proactive not reactive.

They did push the piles from last week around to create better coverage, but there’s definitely thin spots to avoid. You always have fun, so go for it! 👍🏻

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Just in case anyone is wondering, there are exactly ZERO snow guns running today.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Forget "100% open by Christmas, no excuses!" Sno, I'm not even optimistic that they'll be 100% open by 3/15. My wife and I had a long discussion about Gore. The mountain this year exudes the vibe that no-one really cares about it. It just feels neglected, no care or love put into it. More so...

There was also one "below" the Saddle lodge between the entrances of Sleeping Bear / Tahawus & Twister blowing out onto the gravel pit. It still has a lot of work to do.

Cranked some serious gravel today. It's everywhere! Snow guns were actually going strong (😯) on upper Echo & Sagamore along with Hullabaloo and Cloud just about the North Chair Ramp.

    ORDA Funding

I sincerely can't believe that someone thought this was a good idea... and such a good idea in fact, that they need to build a second one at the Ski Bowl as well.

    West Mountain Conditions

If you can ski it during the day on a sunny weekday (and everything is open) it's a fun little mountain. I think this development will require some serious operational upgrades on the mountain op end of things, though. The general skier experience needs to improve in terms of snowmaking (if...

According to the snow report, no Burnt Ridge tomorrow. It has been SO good over there the last two days.

    West Mountain Conditions

I live right there. It was closer to 24". The only issue with West on a pow day is that other than the Cure to Gnarwal and the Go Go, there's not a lot of sustained pitch if the snow gets deep and/or heavy. "Voltage Glades" can be fun too. We used to ski that when it was just a bike trail.

It sucks that we have to think this way as Gore skiers though. We pay for a service and that service failed miserably on what should have been an amazing day.
