The Ugh Thread

LOL
Good to know
My buddy said he turned the flow rate down a bit. He thought is was a bit high. So I'm hopeful it doesn't ever happen again. It's a super old furnace. If/when the time comes to replace it I plan on going with a propane furnace.
That’s not something that should be DIY .
You had a delay in ignition, electrode issues? clogged nozzle? Change the oil filter and have someone with the proper equipment do a combustion analysis. And set it up correctly!

Too rich and you end up with a puff back, your whole house will be black!
Too lean and you will screw up your heat exchanger!

Our laws of thermodynamics from dang P-Chem at Potsdam might be appropriate.
  • If ya play with fire ya get burnt.
  • Underlying concept (law) of: hot air rising and/or ears while swimming at the bottom of the deep end.
  • Don’t get any on ya. (Entropy)
Glad it wasn’t any worse Camper. It’ll buff out.

I'll be sure and schedule a complete service. I'll admit, it's been awhile.
Thanks for the reminder 👍🏻
