9 lifts today. Pretty good for a Tuesday.

Where is @Benny Profane when you need him?

Backwoods

Echo

I skied Sunway, lapped Backwoods a bunch of times, and then did Echo and out. It was decent, but not great.

It was firm enough that it didn't seem worth it to do ten laps. My last ten turns in The Arena were rock solid cord.

FYI the forecast at elevation has improved.

So will the granular snow be something a cautious skier like myself be able to handle on trails off Bear Cub Quad? (No Sunway Chair today) I would think a couple of days of grooming would have given me an inch or more of "East Coast" snow to ski on? I will likely drive up any way but could use some positive vibes. I want to do a trial test of the SLOPES app....

I will reply to myself.... Conditions were far better than I expected! A bit of frozen corduroy if you searched for it and one icy bald spot on Lower Sunway. Zero complaints from me I enjoyed a fine day of Lower Mountain skiing. Only struggle for me was trying to use SLOPES app. Frustrating... it would show the elevation change of the lift ride but refused to record runs! I'll try another day but it may soon find its way into the Deleted Bin! Some techie things only make life more complicated. Keep it simple.....

Yes, beginners do well in the stuff. What to pivot and slide.

Probably a dumb complaint... I wish there was a bit of snow made off the trail at the spot where the groomers enter Lower Sunway. That one area ends up with an unattractive area of snirt. Letting the groomers "wipe their feet" before they get onto the trail would improve the snow conditions a ton. If you ride the Bear Cub Quad you can clearly see even a small welcome mat of man made snow just before entering the trail would solve the problem.

There are quite a few more important things for snowmakers to do than fluff up a dark spot on the bear cub run. Close your eyes when you ride over it on the chair. WOW.

Look at the trees.
They’re like snowflakes... none of em the same.
Most all of the trees are alive to boot.
Some have dead spots & ya can see where they've dropped some of their branches.

or watch techniques of others.

Enjoy the ride ⛷️ 🏂 up.
