ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

And do you have a so-called time of use plan? One should be available. For example, from 10 pm to 6 am, my utility charges 25% of what it charges from 3 to 7 pm. So, I don't charge from 3-7 p.m. If I paid off tap, filling up a Rivian (massive battery) would cost like $10.
I do not have that plan, my electricity is billed the same amount day and night.

there is a lot of different charges on my bill, so I took the total cost of $226 and divided the usage of 825 KWH and it came to $0.274
That is very expensive. I haven't checked in over a year, because I have solar and excess electric, but I think if you sign up for time of use you get a fraction of that rate: 0.10. I would consider reaching out to your utility and letting them know you have an EV and asking for your time of use plan. It could cut your bill alot potentially.

That's the cost I bet. Electric rates have risen substantially and will probably continue. I'm at 22... And I don't get any deals. I could sign up to charge after certain and before certain hours and national grid will rebate me 25 bucks per month. I guess it's something but I didn't sign up.

Some power companies also have plans that will bill the EV charging at a different rate, but the charger has to be smart and be able to report usage to the power company. I think this would let you keep your current flat rate plan for the rest of your usage? This is what Central Hudson offers:

Electricity costs are doing nothing but going up
We're all screwed
Whatabout the Amish?
🚴 powered by sammiches⛷️
The Amish have great sammiches.
Fact.
Their store is between Sneeky Falls (It’s a Woderful Life) & Waterloo in The UpState.

On the other end of Cayuga there’s this place outside Ithacahh.
Can’t vouch for their sammiches however.
