I think you can consider yourself acclimatized when you leave your front door unlocked for a few days straight or leave the car keys in the ignition overnight.
 
We were never big lockers.

My wife is now wanting locks after watching YouTube vids of bears opening doors and cleaning out refrigerators.

It's been pretty busy up here this year, bearwise.

I broke this thread out, because this stuff wasn't really right in the Camp Pics thread.

I was going to call it "Moving to the Mountains" but I think this title opens it up to more people.
