Lynch had an experience of a lifetime as CEO by riding MTN stock downhill while Katz remained Chairman of the Board during the slide.

MTN stock bounced after the Katz announcement.
June 5th MTN announces quarterly results.
This’ll give them somethin to spin.
Yup all spin for sure. Katz has been the chairman the whole time and somehow he's the solution?

I can only imagine the terrible things that Dr Evil's gonna do to boost the stock price. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the rest of us.

He said he’s “changed” & “looks forward to having some fun".

Hmmm. Running a ski conglomerate is different than hawking Pepsi???
Who knew??
Their pass sales are down. They fudged the numbers last season by including day tickets as "passes".
If you can't increase revenue, the only other way to improve the bottom line is to cut costs.
I wouldn't count on more lifts running or more snowmaking.

Liftblog had a link recently to a post on X that was supposedly info sent to VR employees on May 29. Meaning just after Katz took over again as CEO. It's an outline of the two year resource efficiency plan that was first mentioned in September 2024. The organization of execs at the top for the Mountain Division is quite different. For North America the categories are Destination, Regional, Local. Destination resorts are only Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, and W-B. The Regional category includes Heavenly, Crested Butte, Stowe. Stevens Pass, and other large resorts in Tahoe and New England. The Local resorts are small hills in the midwest and mid-Atlantic, mostly those that came with the acquisition of Peak Resorts.

The rest of the world will be under one executive as Europe and Australia. Meaning the two resorts owned by VR in Switzerland and the three in Australia. The other European resorts on Epic in Austria, France, and Italy are only Partners.

Meanwhile, HR folks in Broomfield are scrambling for new jobs.

Katz's letter is only marginally better than the language in the layoff article. They should cowboy up and call it what it is: a layoff, not a separation. Meanwhile, Katz keeps yapping about Fail's values. Can anyone explain what they are?

Glad I'm a pass holder at an ORDA bump.
