When we lived in the 60s in Westchester one of kids in class family had an iceboat.
Her Dad ran it on The Hudson.

Very cool. One of the locals gives dogsled rides on Mirror Lake. He won't go on Lake Flower (a really wide section of the Saranac River) because he doesn't trust the current beneath the ice.

We can have a home and home match but I ain’t dropping the gloves .
Did knock out some monster icicles yesterday. Dang dog chews em.

I feel your pain, last weekend I had enough so after a few beers I had an idea. The mobile driveway ice melt system. I push it around with my ATV

It can clear about 140 sqft per hour.

While picking up some usual restocks at Costco yesterday went by a pallet of big plastic bags of “Rust Defense”. Checked the fine print & it said Sodium Chloride. $8.49 for 44lbs. Folks use it for “softening” water.

Gonna work up the courage to hack at the iced gravel some more but now got salt for when it locks up bad again.

I’ll let the free firewood do the work. Oil tank was $200.00 misc hardware was $24.00
I threw a bunch of salt and gravel down ( $100.00 ish) that did very little.
