Winter Weather 2024/25

Just started with the snow/sleet at Gore.

Snowing in Saratoga Springs as well. Calling for 4-8" this weekend now, I think the doomsayers are wrong about what this weekend will bring in the north.
i would agree with this...the models have trended south...looks like areas north of the capital might remain all snow... the cats will not be so lucky

8 inches so far still pounding here on The River , another 8-10 expected over the weekend . Driving early this am was sketchy . Had to be at the cancer center by. 7am for some immunity shots. It is a 3 minute drive
It Was icing up on windshield even tho had it covered all nite. Shoulda taken the one in the garage duh .

Our plow guy works early shift now so doesn't get us done til later this after noon . We have a 150 ft driveway so I left my wife's Rav near the end of it,but had to hand shove the heavy packed stuff at the end of the driveway from the city plows..

Winter came on in February after easy December and January

Well back to east coast reality... According to the ECMWF, Thurs and this coming weekend's storm both due us dirty...Both have snow changing to rain all the way to the Cad boarder...Also in typical east coast fashion we will have to deal with arctic air on Monday
But if you want big snows head west young people
ECMWF seems to be coming in line with GFS and Canadian solutions for Saturday night thru Sunday. Forecast Discussion talking about 15:1 to 18:1 snow to liquid ratios, in places. Cats still look to get skunked, although OpenSnow still has an optimistic 10-20 inch forecast for Platty, at the moment. Some ncp mentioned for North Creek, potentially. Big snowfall numbers in many forecasts for WF. Kinda wish we were driving to Placid instead of Chatham tonight. How you currently reading is Jason?

Quick wet warmup in CNY after some overnight snow. Didn’t get too hot today (~40F) but it’s gonna lock up again this afternoon. Song & Lab scheduled a 3 pm opening today. Wind is howling now. Hope we get the backside snow.

We've had everything here in FoPo, so far. Snow, sleet, rain, back to sleet back to snow, etc. calling for 6-12 by Saturday at 1AM

Changeover from rain to snow in the Tri-Lakes.

the 12z eruo has the change over line around glens falls...but it's so hard to pin point...just north of the line looks great tho..
a few miles can make all the diff.....If this stays exactly as depicted , its a great event for the dacks and central VT
