We drove up to Greek on Friday night. We’d gotten an Air B&B across the road so my wife could see the boys (they’re both at schools in CNY now) and we could use our indie passes on Saturday..

Can’t claim we got an early start or anything but we made it across the road and skied.

Greek is always fun. It’s a modern, medium sized resort but once you’re on the snow, it feels throwback.

We went up the quad once and made our way over to Chair 4 and Chair 5 where we did most of our skiing for the day. That’s a nice area to just chill out and cruise around for a while.

I ski with my older son a lot but my younger boy has been preoccupied with school and other things so getting him on snow is always a little treat. He likes Greek but doesn’t like having his picture taken while skiing.

Chair 5 and the trails around it were almost deserted. We had the place to ourselves. Even the tailgating scene was super low key

Of course, the best terrain is not accessible off of Chair 5 so we eventually made our way back. Chair 4 had a line but it wasn’t bad- 5 to 10 minutes at most. All the snowmaking terrain was in good shape. Hercules had a few loud spots but nothing really icy. Some of the natural was a bit firm but nothing to complain about.

We did cycle back through the main base area once or twice. One great thing about Greek is that it has a great learning area with a really slow chair and some carpets.

I kept looking for Chair 2 to open up but it never did. This is my favorite part of the hill.

All good stuff. Junior saw on his phone that Plattsburgh was playing Cortland so we made our way into town, got some good fishfry at Doug’s and took in a little college hockey.

It cut into our night skiing time but it was a fun side trip and led to watching Slapshot in the condo later on, which my younger son had never seen before. I forgot how foul some of the language in that movie was.

Hit the limit on pics. Great little trip- just as much for the hanging out as for the actual skiing.

You do dat you go to da box you know, 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame, and den you get free

Glad ya made it to The UpState & got some turns & Doug’s in.
It’s been a great winter if ya like snow.
