Friday brought rain in WNY, so @Tiff and I hit the road to escape and meetup with @Robert and Alex at Snow Ridge. They received +30” earlier in the week, and another 6” overnight.
It was a frigid blue bird day, and the conditions were fantastic. The North Chair was not operational, but that didn't stop us from lapping Silver Smith, Silver Glades, and the Sugar Bush Glades for the first two hours via the Ridge Runner Chair.
As 11 o'clock neared, we were ready to head over for the Snow Pocket T-Bar to open. All the recent snowfall was untouched in the Snow Pocket since the T-Bar had not run since last weekend.
We started down Kuersteiner to connect, and I saw a path where people had hiked up Rockin Robin to summit the Snow Pocket. I made an impulse decision to veer off and hike up. The hike was more than I expected, and deep snow made it more challenging. But my first run down the Snow Pocket was pretty epic, and worth the hike.
Robert and Alex were the first going up the T-Bar. We spent the rest of the day lapping this pod of trails.
The Sap Line Glades was our favorite run of the day. The snow was deep and untouched.
We had a late lunch at the Looney Goose Pub before hitting the road. It was another terrific day at Snow Ridge!
