Excellent!

Agree good conditions today and busy too. Lots of good runs but ROTDs in no particular order were chatty glades, upper steilhang, the dark side woods and liftline, darby woods, tahawus glades (the pick) straightbrook liftline from hawkeye. Not ROTD but still good were topridge, open pit early, lower darby, and barkeater. Not good was 46er by the time I got to it. Sheet of ice even trying to hug the fresh on the side.

It was evident in the conditions and around the mountain where snowmaking was happening they brought in resources. Lots of snowmakers attending to guns. Rumor and lies getting buried. Sagamore lit top to bottom. Much of wild air lit up too to finish it off. They definitely are making a great effort to try and catch up from the abysmal start.

A very enjoyable Gore day.
How did you get to Tahawus glades with North Quad not running? Had a blast today on Lower Steilhang, Dark Side, Double Barrel, straight brook and Barkeater. Probably my first time ever not riding the straighbrook quad. Passed it once and the line was way too long. Really happy to see Gore finally getting some real snow. Kids were even finally able to go sledding behind the house.

Getting there is easy, just have to take the long way back. (Pipeline).

Great day. Honestly better than yesterday despite the cold and no new snow. Cold actually wasn't bad thanks to no wind and I think kept crowds down some. Didn't feel busy at all and weren't too many cars on the access road today when I left after 2. Started on the lower mountain at open lapping Showcase, Quicksilver, and Wild air. All were excellent packed powder carving. Moved up top to check out Topridge. Also excellent and warranted a re run.

Uncas good to Straightbrook. Lines a little long due to every other chair loading but as a single went quick. Hawkeye excellent. Did a couple laps. Upper Chati OK with Chati glades better. Straightbrook lift line bumps were still excellent. Lapped that and top of Hawkeye multiple times. Headed over to the dark side and did a couple upper steilhang to dark side glade laps which were all great. Then lies opened. Was excellent chalky snow up top with whales...bottom 1/3 was gack that was though to break through. Lapped it 4 times and by the 4th lap the traffic had done a good job breaking it up so it was manageable to enjoyable.

Finished the day with a spin through Tahawus glades which were most excellent and still powdery and then a Sunway to Otter Slide glades which were skiied in but still decent.

Rumor should be ready in the next day Id think. Always nice to make the Gore Instagram.

Gore is so back

I did yesterday and it was OK. Very skied in and a little thin but doable. Surprisingly the lower part was open and that wasn't it's usual rock garden. As for today I didn't venture beyond the main mountain.

Agreed. Gore is back. Early season was clearly rough, and if the interview with the Gore GM is still a go or ever happens, I’d be curious about the sharing of resources between the mountains and the quick and VERY positive outcome of that decision. Clearly, based on my observations, it seems more boots on the ground were delivered to Gore, and those boots walked the grounds and I helped run the snowmaking systems efficiently and to max capaciity. The amount of snow made on wild air in 24 hours was rather incredible.

It seems to be off the table. Radio silence. Honestly I could understand Bone saying, I just don't need this now. Maybe raise it again after snowmaking is done, or in the summer.

I had dinner in town tonight. People were talking about the help Gore is getting from Belle, and the dividends from that investment.

"It is now February, and we have arrived." Or something to that effect.

Disclaimer I haven't skied Gore since Jan 12, so I have no opinion on ops at this moment.

I will be there tomorrow, looking forward to it. Who wants to ski?

Whatever ORDA did, it worked. Gore was a different place this weekend. The trails were covered side to side, tons of new terrain opened and guns were blazing all over the mountain. It was like a switch was turned figuratively and literally. If what everyone is saying is true, that the Bell team came up to get things going, then many thanks and kudos to Bruce and his crew.
