Knee Lubrication Shot...?

Finally seriously considering toget one of the Lubricating shots for my left knee. Not because of pain, the knee is just plain balky in the morning. Does not look swollen but sure feels that way? Actually gets freer after an hour or two. Not good for my golf game or for skiing. I am sure they will recommend replacement... like my wife is about to have. But I would be happy to simply have the left knee feel as good as the 75 year old right knee. Not urgently needed.... so I can schedule at my leisure. My real question: What is the down time I should expect? A week off from skiing? Two weeks off? I am sure someone on the forum must have gotten the lubricating shots. I would think the recovery is short but I am not sure I trust the times suggested in the sales pitch they give you.
BTW I just bought one of the programmable ice therapy machines for my wife's upcoming surgery. Amazing technology... I can set it for 10, 20, or 30 minute Cold therapy then set a rest period in minutes before the Cold therapy starts up again. All automatically. Sure beats shuttling ice packs.

If you're talking about the gel shot (Hyaluronic acid) there's basically no recovery time. I had one in September and went about normal activity within a day. However it will take several weeks to a couple of months to realize the full benefit. Basically it mimics your bodies natural joint lubrication.

Some shots like mine are a series of 3. 1/wk for 3 wks. Others are one and done.

If you have fluid in the joint they will draw it out first with a syringe, then inject the gel.

If your insurance covers it, it's basically a no brainer to give it a try. It's certainly not painful nor will it cause you any real downtime.

My knees are feeling very good. I've also lost over 20lbs in the last 16 months and I'm sure that helps a lot also. But I won't hesitate to get the gel again if I feel I need some help.

If yer insurance covers it, Euflexxa, a series of 3 shots in 3 weeks, is the way to go.

Thank you. I was afraid the downtime would be longer. I will ski with my stretchy brace for a while longer. Then maybe decide before golf season. Never liked the goofy look, or white knee look, of knee braces for golf.

No bag o braces for me....
Now shoe inserts that is a different story...
I have saved nearly every golf shoe insert, going back years.
Superfeet green in callaway shoes... Nike inserts in a no name BOA golf shoe, etc.
No fear, the callaway inserts went in my Alpina boots, under a stiff insert I got (and love) at Job Lot!
So tight, I Needed to use needle nose pliers to get them out for an inspection.
I say "inspection" but really I had forgotten what was in there.
One thing I can say about Alpina boots... inserts go in for life!
Probably have a half dozen Footjoy inserts as well... Might be an Etonic or two as well.
I am a 5-6 handicap, play 120 plus rounds a year, 18 holes and home by 11am!
Even the best 'waterproof' shoes need the inserts swapped to stay fresh for early golf.
My other sin... I love the no tie stretchy laces when not in BOA shoes.
BTW My grand son before switching to skiing was a snowboarder....
He had a pair of BOA Boarder boots that were absolutely wonderful !
Maybe Burton's? I was SO jealous. 3 or 4 pumps and he was ready to go!
Oh, wait a minute, maybe they were dial clicks instead of pumps?
