Then I guess this picture of snow sticking at a rest area in southwest Virgina should go here today. I was driving from Knoxville back to central NC. It was the last leg driving back from Taos. Skied there a couple days after a week at Wolf Creek.

Temps were in the mid-30s. Had to take I-81 to I-77 since I-40 at the TN/NC border is still completely closed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

8 Inches and still snowing, 25 minutes from GP.

The first stuff that fell Friday was tiny specks of snow & looked like fog.
Snowed the whole time I was at Song 10:30 to 1 at an isothermal 28F. Stopped for a bit then the chill started Saturday with a wind shifted lakes effect to much bigger flakes. Side roads are greasy. Gonna be a white Merry Christmas to boot.

Gore’s snow report for Sunday says:
"Temperatures today will be in the single digits with possible wind chills dipping as low as -24 Fahrenheit. Be sure to bundle up and cover all exposed skin to prevent frostbite.”

That’s nippy, but it’s dry cold.
