Titus Conditions

Titus was a bit scratchy in the woods 2/20/24 and a bit thin in the natural dept in general. First time on upper mnt since April. We tried Outer Edge and wound up side-slipping a brown rock strewn ice face for 50 m, so we passed on Outer Outer. Lift line (Davids Delight?) was similar to @Mike report above only now the powder is all in piles. There really isn't enough snow to form good moguls and it is ice underneath. It was nice to get out of the main base area (finally!). But that area still skied best (below) along with the upper mnt blues.

I love the whole bridge/tunnel setup. More cross country than downhill I guess, but great fun.

We headed over to Titus today for a few runs, after they were closed for two days. The skiing is pretty good right now, it was firm in the morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it softened a bit. Chairs 1,4, and 6 were open, and the skiing was fun, The groomers did a wonderful job as they have all year. The base really took a hit though, and if we get another torch I'm not sure how things will go. Titus doesn't stay open past mid-March anyway, so we will see. The coverage on the open, man-made snow trails is still good. Kudos to the snow makers and mountain ops, they have done a great job in a very difficult year.

It ain’t over till it’s over. Gonna spin Monday.

Well, Titus opened up yesterday at 4pm, we made it to the lift about 5:30. It was a party, and much better than I thought it would be, after this last weeks weather. Chairs III and IV were open, with Pine Run, Upper and Lower Park Run and The Face open, as well as the easy stuff off III and the carpet, which was also running. The snow was fast, real fast, but easily edgeable, and a lot of fun. I could stick my pole in and it didn't fall over, which is always a good sign. Great coverage and grooming, and they were blowing snow on the closed terrain to open more. Shawn Legacy rocked the lodge, good food for dinner. Lots of kids and families, which is a great vibe to me, as long as you stay our of the way of the kids bombing The Face......Today, it's really cold, and they have lift VI open as well. I'm going to tune my wife's new skis, they are a bit grabby and we'll head out, on track for our traditional crack of noon start. Let's go skiing.

FKNA this sounds awesome. Post a few pics!

Bring on LIFT 6!

BOLD PREDICTION: We're skiing those trees the first week in January. 🤠

Well, they are closed until Friday, it's warm today. We are going to take the nordic touring gear and head up for some exercise. Maybe hit Whiteface later in the week. There could be some snow this week.....
