Penny was our first dog, we loved her so much.

She was 12, not young, but we weren't expecting to lose her so soon. She was living a happy, normal life.

We are crushed.

Soon after we got Penny from a shelter in 2015

We have a ton of turkeys in our yard.

As you can see, we have those two big oaks. This year has been off the charts with acorns, and the turkeys dig the acorns.

Penny did her normal routine, ran out into the backyard and barked at the turkeys.

I guess it was too much for her.

She ran back in the house. We took her out front as she asked to go back out.

She peed and then fell over. In a minute she was gone. She was 12.

Harv, so sorry to hear about Penny. They give you so many great days and then one of the worst ones when you lose them.

So sorry to hear that Harv. I absolutely adore dogs and they are best friends and family members. Losing one, especially suddenly, is brutal. My sincere condolences.
