Wolfe Pointe in NC to reopen as Hatley Pointe

Courage, or money. 24 inches of annual snowfall.

At least they are going real estate and four season.

That area just got hit with the flooding from Hurricane Helene. I wonder how much damage they suffered? It would be hard to believe that they escaped unscathed. Hopefully it's minimal.

The latest I've seen about Hatley Pointe is that there was minimal damage at the resort itself. It's high in the hills about 20 miles north of Asheville. The problem will be the general state of roadways in the area by the time ski season starts. The entire region is still for emergency travel only west of Hickory, which is 80 miles away from Asheville.

I wonder what their source of potable water is. The water treatment plants in Asheville are heavily damaged. Could take weeks to repair. Not good.

Looks like I-26 north of Asheville has closed sections as of Oct. 1, but they are north of the turn off to Hatley Pointe.
