    The Ugh Thread

I have now seen everything. Didn't know whether to post here or start a new thread, but here we go. Skiing today (Christmas) at van Ho. Snow falling all day. Some kids in the biathlon range because biathlon junior nationals this week. Skiing was great; I skied a couple hours. As I go into...

    Winter Weather 25/26

We're getting polar temperatures tomorrow when I'm volunteering at the Ho. Then another thaw Sunday and Monday. Hopefully it won't be as disastrous as the last one.

    Killington Village Discussion

Thanks for the share, @MarzNC . The link to the developer's rendering. My only reference point is Stratton's base village. Did a couple trail races there back in the day, up and down the mountain. IDK what it's like now, back then it was styled after some quaint Swiss village. Much more...

Confirm: The aerials World Cup is on the jumping complex's event schedule. Already getting a few people from out of town filtering in to the Ho in advance of National Championships.

    Games of Some Olympiad

Thank you @tirolski that's very kind of you. I don't think I have the connections to get nominated. Having worked for an Italian wine importer for 20 years, I got no argument regarding the food and vino. Last night, I made chicken cacciatora from Erica De Mane's recipe in The Flavors of...

    Games of Some Olympiad

Thinking about this a bit more. Mt van Ho has snowmaking and brutal new trails. What it doesn't have is a super fancy stadium. For nordic events, every recent Olympics and world championships starts and finishes in a football or track and field sized stadium. For example: No way you're...

    Winter Weather 25/26

The Tri-Lakes survived the thaw. Light snow today; 2-5 inches forecast for tomorrow. The last long-range forecast that I saw, gonna stay cold till the first weekend in January. Send some of that LE my way.

    Who's on the DL?

Hey... suffering builds character. :sneaky: Probably not weight bearing.

    Who's on the DL?

Weight lifting, skiing, roller skiing, running, walking. All weight-bearing exercises. Cycling is good aerobic exercise, but it's not weight-bearing.

    Fall Weather 2025

This morning: 60 mph winds, 48 degrees, torrential rain took all the snow away. Temperature dropped to ~32, wet heavy snow. WF, the Ho, and Dewey Mountain are closed. I had a volunteer shift at the luge World Cup this afternoon, but it's been cancelled because weather.
