Another good spring day today. Pulled in around 9. Started with a Showcase which had just softened to Wild Air. Both great. Then over to BR. Sagamore was as good as it gets corn and flat. Did 3 laps before heading over via Backwash...I mean Backwoods to the bowl. 46er also excellent and did 4...
Most of the business is the flight school there. Jim who owns it is an awesome guy and a very thorough instructor. Got my instrument rating with him and highly recommend for anyone in the area looking to learn to fly.
There's actually a couple Jets at Cortland. One is a Citation Bravo owned by...
Ended up being a pretty decent day. First couple runs on lower mountain on Showcase and Twister were socked in and crusty. Put my Instrument Rating to use...on skis...Thankfully up top was above the clouds by around 9:30 and a little softer. Things continued to soften as the day progressed...
Bottom is pretty brutal with a crust, no groom, and near 0 visibility...up top much better in and out of the clouds and things are softening up.
Glad I didn't bail on today as it crossed my mind this morning...
I agree I'm not sure what they are saving it for given it's going to be super warm mid-week and lose even more coverage...when it won't be open anyways....
This aside had a great spring day today. Had a less advanced skier friend with me today so didn't do my normal non-stop Rumor laps as usual...
Was supposed to ski Jay Sunday 3/2 with @TheGreatAbyss but after seeing everything except the Bonnie on windhold plus the cold we audibled to Burke which was fully open (I mean it's basically just the Mid-Burke express anyways) and a little warmer. I Skiied it before but not in a decade since...
Good day today. Made a pit stop to break up the drive back from Jay. Skiied about 4 hours. Everything skiied great with nice packed powder. Rumor and Lies were my ROTDs. Nice temps. Sad our incredible streak of conditions are coming to an end but it's incredible in itself we went this long with...
Ended up rolling the dice and doing Sugarbush North/Glen Ellen anyways. Glad I did. Awesome day. Bottom third was crusty and melty, everything above was awesome and powdery. Not crowded. No impacts from the VP visit
At this point I'm thinking Killington. Didn't want to burn an IKON day there yet but if prefer not to buy a ticket since I have the pass and am buying tickets to ski Jay Sunday and Monday.
Might be me sadly. Room already booked for Friday Saturday...can't change it. Was going on the way to meet @TheGreatAbyss at Jay on Sunday...ugh.
Can't even go skiing and forget about what's going on at my job (Fed employee). This administration is literally doing everything it can to make my...
Another good one today. Short report as it was a shorter day but very quiet and everything skiied great. Viz was a little better too, especially on Skyward which was groomed to perfection.
When I left around 1 everything below mid had turned to melted chunky snow. Not quite corn. Not quite...
