    Gore Mountain Conditions

Nope, just looking for a little common sense. I’ve had epic days for the last two weeks at Gore. Hats off to the groomers for finding snow to creatively push around to keep trails open.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Gore announced an ice hold on all lifts early this morning, then gave up and closed for the day at 10:20 am. I wish there was a parking lot webcam so I could see how many pissed off customers risked the icy roads to get to the mountain. The ice couldn’t be “anticipated” for the 4 pm post...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

It was an interesting day. I was expecting some sun and warming up and softening, but that never happened. It snowed all day up top, accumulating to about 3 inches. Lower Darby, Hawkeye and Chatty were all good, Hullabaloo skied off and icy. The lower mountain was all good except for Twister...

Then the salt was for the slalom course.

I think they are supposed to be on Twister, which is open today. I saw a couple of pallets of rock salt stashed in 1A on Friday, it might require a few more.

Rain actually supposed to start around 730 pm now. I’m sure glad they closed the bowl today to protect that snow so it can all melt away before they would open it next Thursday or so. 🖕🏻🦴🖕🏻🦴🖕🏻🦴

Twisted Sister was open on Monday when we skied it to Echo, but then you had to bear right back to the main base - the Gully to Cedars Traverse and Burnt Ridge was roped off. I’m sure it was on Wednesday also.

I think the Burnt Ridge season is longer than that (maybe not with the bad opening this year). But instead of a rigid weekly schedule, how about some situational awareness? Throw open the whole mountain on Tuesday (Mardi Gras special?) and have one last day of these great winter conditions, then...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Exactly. I can understand no Ski Bowl on a Tuesday but no Burnt Ridge? Seriously? The day before a heavy warm spring rain? Who the fuck are you saving it for, Bone?

It can be vintage dated. After installation of the first Hudson chair but before the High Peaks quad.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

OK, after we have all expressed our thanks and happiness for Mother Nature coming through and ORDA moving snowmakers from other mountains to give us the last few glorious weeks, it’s time for a splash of cold water. Who decided to make Open Pit a natural snow only trail this season? It is now a...

There’s a picture of it on tomorrow’s snow report. It was at the Saddle.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

The 70+ pass was $269 up until mid August if you previously had a pass or FSC, up $20 from the year before. I think there are price increases in October and December to get to the current listed price. It should be the same or very slightly more for 25-26. They will announce the pricing when...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Gore has three times as much terrain as Belleayre spread out over four mountains. Belleayre’s trails are close together along a single face. Apples and oranges.

That ain’t happenin’ . It’s a seasonal job. I would guess that most Gore employees are employed somewhere in the tourism industry during the summer.
