Where are you skiing this week?

Difficulty levels, Whiteface vs Vermont hills? We had a couple Olympics here.

Would be curious to hear about this from the alpine skiers on here.
The range of types of ski areas/resorts in Vermont is vast. From tiny hills to full-blown resorts with luxury slopeside lodging, and everything in between. Fair to say there is plenty of terrain for all ability levels in Vermont.

If a traveling family (>4 hr drive) includes kids who are still beginners or cautious intermediates (perhaps a parent too), much better places to go in Vermont than Whiteface. My ski buddy who lives in Cleveland drove to Smuggs for family ski vacations when his daughter was little. I know of people in PA who like Smuggs as a family destination.

I mean I heart NY and all but come on. Of course Vermont gets more visits.
The question is why?
More Epic (Stowe, Okemo, Mount Snow) & Ikon (Big K-Pico, Stratton, Sugarbush) joints me thinks.

Ski3 don’t come close.

do we want more visits?

ORDA has dropped the ball marketing Mt van Ho.

There used to be a lot more people here on weekends. Last winter, the best in 10 years, way too quiet.

They waited until a month before to post about the Lake Placid Loppet, while NENSA posts its whole entire race schedule by December.

For the first time ever, the 3 kids & I are all skiing someplace different for the first time of the season. Oldest did Whiteface, Middle is at Peek & Peek Saturday/Sunday, and the Youngest going to Bristol Thursday. I may be the last one out of the gate at Swain on Sunday. Sadly, none of us can make it to Snow Ridge.
