Toggenburg Mountain Sold

I was not was expecting this!

That is a nice little spot. Be good for someone who could develop 10-15 homes on it. Let the lifts sit and market it to people who like back country and snowmobiling. I would think people having there own little winter mountain would attract buyers from Syracuse

The Togg property has been "on the market" for awhile.

Me either

I truly whish him luck.

I found it interesting that the article states he's moving 3 of his other businesses there. That makes sense to me. That said, I wonder if he's doing this primarily for his other businesses or to truly reopen the hill.

Wedding venue maybe? It's good business. I know the price of renting a nice place for the service and reception has gone wild-- that's just for the space before one catered item enters. Seems like there isn't enough market capacity either - it's really hard to find a place for a reception as many of the old "party house" businesses have gone away and/or not en vogue.

Very good idea. Tog is in a really cool area so the views could be spectacular if done right.
My understanding is Greek gets 35k just to rent the Lookout for a wedding. As you say, all that is for is the venue itself.
That seems insane to me but you can't imagine how many weddings they have there. If I'm going to spend 35k it's gonna have a motor.

There are so many ski resorts doing weddings these days, it was the topic for an article in SAM-Ski Area Management magazine in the past year. A venue can also be used for family reunions, meaning extended families where the party is 25+ people of all ages. That sort of event has been going on at southeast ski areas for decades, especially the ones that have slopeside lodging.
