Stuart talks to Danielle and Laszlo of Plattekill

Thanks for thinking of us Benny but we have already discussed it in the conditions thread. I agree with your take and also found it interesting that they are open to partnering, especially that they’d be open to partnering with Mountain Creek/Big Snow. I loved the expansion musings as well. I’ve always thought that extending down to the valley floor would really open things up there. Not so sure about putting a detachable out past Overlook though.

Plattekill conditions

I know, but, August? There is no MTB anymore. Which was interesting. I remember when DH was first starting, Plat was famous for being the most knarly. Saw a few guys all beat up from a visit. But now he says the other mountains have taken that market, and there's a new "groomed" version that is going after the middle market. I need to try it, since I'm such a gaper, and old, too. I hear Killington is big these days.

I just listened to 30 mins of my first pod ever. I'm not a fan of the medium.

So far I haven't learned anything new, only because I have spend so much time in the last 15 years talking to Laz. I do really love hearing Danielle's voice :) and her input.

I am interested in the topic of pass affiliation. That and a few other topics, where I know precisely what Laz thinks. It's interesting to hear the nuance between what Laz says publicly vs what he has said in private.

I'll try to listen to another 30 mins later today.

Go to an hour and a 24min. & they talk ORDA.

He also talks earlier about frantically buying 19 triple chairs from Fail’s Big Boulder.

I agree lots of it is repetitive for longtime Plattekill stans but I found their openness to partnering with new investors to be interesting and I wasn’t aware of the existing Plattekill/ Mountain Creek cross pollination. In many ways the two hills couldn’t be more different but in some ways (independence, dedicated pass holders, “we do things our own way”) they actually are kind of similar.
