Skiing with an ICD/Pacemaker?

After a heart incident in December (not a heart attack, but ventricular tachycardia) and having my life saved in the ER, three days later the doctors put in an Implanted Cardioverter/Defibrillator, which is similar to a pacemaker in terms of muscle location (on top of left pec muscle) and near-term limits on certain physical activity (no golf until autumn, no more overhead presses or heavy bench, probably ever).

The doc said I shouldn't ski the rest of this season (which sucks but I accept) but I was wondering if anyone on the board has one and whether it has impacted their approach to skiing. (E.g., I think I am going to limit my double-blacks unless it is just steepness.)

I’m sorry to hear that- glad you’re still with us.
Last year rode up the lift with a patroller who had his radio on.
He got a call to bring the defibrillator.
Don’t remember seeing an ambulance and/or hearing about anything bad.
We all know ❤️rates goes up skiing and other activities.
@Petronio yer Doc should know what’s best for ya.
