Passes for 21/22

Dangerboy has influenced me to go with the Catamount/Berkshire East pass for next winter- probably with the Indy add on but I have time to decide on that. Price goes up tomorrow

My oldest sister and her husband are turning 80 this year. They just bought Jay Peak season passes for $65 each, CAD at par if you send a cheque. Jeebus, that is less than a day ticket for the rest of us.

The Indy Add-on option is that reason I went ahead and got a Massanutten Full Season pass again instead of the Special Value Pass (not good Sat 9-4). Since I get a property owner discount, comes out slightly less than getting the cheaper Massanutten pass and using a regular Indy for two Saturdays.

Now just have to remember to get the Add-on when it becomes available on July 1.

Will buy Gore (SKI3) at the deadline in August. Already bought Plattekill. Will go with day tickets for Magic, McCauley, Snow Ridge and Killington. Hope to get back to Smuggs or maybe Jay.

Hope to get back to Greek and get to Song, at least. Go West young man.

Big plans as always.

I had not bought a pass in several years after holding one at Gore for the better part of 3 decades. I don't get up there as much as I would like with 3 little kids running around these days. However being less than an hour an half from Berkshire East I decided to take the plunge and get a pass there for 2 of the kids and myself!

Last year was my first visit to Berkshire East and man was I impressed, great little hill with some nice pitch, fantastic Indy vibe, and a notable commitment to snowmaking (making snow in March). I can't wait to get back out there with the little ones and support a fantastic little hill.

I renewed my Ikon base pass. I did not use Ikon my pass last season so I was able to renew for $50. I usually get a 4 pack at Magic.

I’ll get a Gore pass again but I’ll skip the ABasin pass. I bought that this year because I wanted to be sure I could ski there with my son, but they raised the price too high this year. I’ll use his buddy passes next year and whatever I can find for other trips.

Already purchased Platty and Ski3 season passes. I'm doing more Cats these days as the baby makes it harder to go away for longer weekends. I figure I'll have Platty for weekend day trips, Belle for midweek storm chasing, and Gore/WF for the few weekends I can get away.

Maybe if by the fall the baby is walking on his own, and is less of burden for my wife to take for a week I might pick up an Ikon base pass as well and try to do some actual trips again. It's a lot of money on passes, but skiing is my only outlet right now.
