ORDA Chooses a New CEO

Kinda funny that the leader of the FISU disaster is now the new Queen of ORDA  😂
Pratt knew mountain operations from running Gore.
She played luge then helped set up & run the WUG.
Bring on the icy banked turns. 🛷

ORDA didn’t get a dime from the measly ticket sales for the WUG.
They all went to her Adirondack Sports Council. 🤔

Seems to be a clear indication of the direction of ORDA going forward. More focus on taxpayer funded boondoggles that fail to generate anywhere near the projected economic impact, and less focus on the customers who have been visiting the mountains for years.

IDK... I'd give her a chance. Let's see what she brings to the table.

Mike Pratt brought extensive experience from his time managing Gore. He was familiar with the shortcomings of the ORDA mountains, and prioritized rectifying them with capital improvements. 11 new lifts were either built or approved during his tenure, and all 3 mountains completed major snowmaking upgrades, and renovated or replaced lodges. I fear that spigot is going to shut off, even though much work is still needed.

I love Gore but it’s really just a big locals’ mountain with just enough PITA stuff to keep the tourist crowds away. A CEO focused on international competitions is probably not the right fit.
Does anyone want to see more WUG?

Scuttlebutt is that when FIS's John Alberg visited Mt van Ho and saw the view beyond the stadium, he flipped: it's wicked telegenic. Biathlon World Cup coming to the Ho, 2026. Gonna bring TV revenue for ORDA. In my wildest dreams, I can see a cross country world cup schedule with stops in Quebec and LP.
