For those of you that cross country ski, check out a completely re-imagined Oak Hill Outdoor Center. This venue was formerly managed by Dartmouth College, it since as been converted to a Non-Profit by some very motivated and talented community members, they raised $4 million to add: snowmaking, new trails, lights, Pisten Bully and improved access for the community. A tremendous amount of effort went into forestry work, new drainage. A very impressive effort!

If XC is your thing, check it out, season passes go on sale in the October.

Wow!

If I may ask, how did they raise the $$. That's quite a chunk for donations alone.

All donations, a mix from college and community. The local ski club raised over 100K, they used to have the breakout online, but we removed it for the new website.

It appears that transitioning to non-profit is trending as the way to go for privately owned nordic ski areas changing ownership. Prospect Mountain, Craftsbury, Crosscut Mountain in MT, Active Backwoods Retreats in MI. Those are just the ones I'm aware of.
