Authorities are looking for a Rochester Institute of Technology student who may be in the Adirondacks.

Twenty-two-year-old Matthew Grant was last seen at 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, he was wearing a green jacket and blue jeans, and driving a charcoal gray 2014 Jeep Cherokee with Michigan license plate ESR 8141.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that his internet history showed he'd been looking at maps of the Adirondacks and Appalachian trail that night. His car was last tracked through the thruway exit in Syracuse.

In a Facebook post, Grant's family asked locals near Whiteface Mountain and the surrounding area to look for his car Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, they said police did not find his car, but asked anyone driving on State Route 3 between Watertown and Lake Placid to watch the sides of the road, ditches and embankments for the Jeep.

That sure sounds like that's where he was headed.

I'm moving this to the woodstove.

I didn't see any explanation of what happened?

That wasn't disclosed, it's obviously a private matter. I don't believe he suffered any kind of injury or exposure. Actually, we have no idea where he was even found. He could have been in Manhattan for all we know.
