Hey all! New to this forum! My son and I are headed to Whistler for spring break, skiing 4/9-4/12. Hoping to meet up with any other families enjoying the (hopefully) blue skis and spring turns! Also looking for any beta anyone might have for how to get the most out of our stay!
We're from Brooklyn. My son is 14 (8th grade) and a solid intermediate skiier. I had a Taos season pass in the 00's. but have only skiied the east since then.
THANKS!!

Welcome Eric! I hope you have favorable weather for your visit. Here are some tips:

• Whistlerpeak.com is a great resource for weather, conditions, lift and grooming status, etc. It’s much better than the Epic app.

• Fatmap is great for getting to know the mountain

• Whistler is the busier side. Ski Blackcomb on that Sunday for shorter lift lines. The weekdays shouldn’t be crowded unless it’s a big pow day

• Fitzsimmons, one of the lifts at the base of Whistler, will not be running so they can get a head start on replacing the lift for next season. The village gondola might be busier as a result.

• Unless you like standing in lines, avoid 7th Heaven on the weekend—or hit it early before the lines build.

• I’m not much of a fan of groomers, but if Peak to Creek has been freshly groomed, it’s a real treat. 5k foot vert with solid pitch the whole way.

• Since Taos is a four letter word for steep, I would recommend you do the boot pack up Spanky’s at least once. The Gemstones are one of my favorite zones anywhere. Your son should probably sit that one out, though!
