Currently in the process of wedding planning, found a pretty cool perk at one of the venues my partner and I just toured. The Warfield House Inn is owned by the Schaefer family and as a gift to couples who have their wedding at the Inn they offer two free season passes with access to Berkshire East, Catamount and Bousquet.

That is awesome.

My close friend's kid booked Platt for next Oct..It comes with a pair of passes..
From what I heard Platt gets a pretty penny for a wedding.. That lodge is a bit beaten up..

Translation: customers value the experience and are willing to pay for it.

That lodge is a bit beaten up..

Translation: The lodge itself is important to me as a wedding buyer, and personally I don't see the value.

(Full disclosure Plattekill is one of my favorite lodges.)

The way I see it, there is something odd about saying a price is too high if the seller can find all the buyers they need. Windham Pass, Plattekill Pass, whatever you are talking about.

You don't see the value, if that feeling was universal, the product would fail.

Not to mention nearly all wedding venues anywhere accessible to NYC get way out of hand with pricing regardless. Like I'm still in used car territory from a pricing perspective, we've found out just how quick things get to brand new Mercedes pricing. Silly to compare cost of venues to vehicles but the cost spectrum is similar. We looked at Platte as well as Belleayre the lodges at both definitely were deterrents for their own reasons. @jasonwx when you realize people are paying $100K down the road for one night for venues near Woodstock anything Platte charges seems reasonable by comparison.

As a ski lodge it's fantastic!!! Wedding venue.... They have a lot of elderly people attending and that might be a problem.. Hey I'm looking forward to nice rustic type of wedding.. I hate the usual catering hall crap....

I have 2 girls in their late 20's... We refuse to spend anywhere near those insane numbers...What a f'n waste of money for a 4 hr party... Money better spent as down payment on a house..
Yes in comparison Platt is a down right bargain..

Agree. And that is what it is. If you choose to get married in a ski lodge, you can't blame it for being a fantastic ski lodge.

Everybody's a capitalist until the market determines something they want is "expensive."

Guys I have a 17 year old, I hope I have some time but...

What kind of numbers are we talking about?

100k to 300k....
Just got back from one that was about 50 miles north of Dallas...Cost 60k...
I'm in sticker shock...Fortunately my kids are very low key and don't want big weddings...Not that we were going to do it anyway..
