For the Love of the T-Bar

They missed the T-bar at the summit of Waterville Valley that was new in 2019. Good fun! Especially on a nice day with a view. Although the reason it replaced a chairlift is because wind hold won't be as much of an issue. I gather that used to be a common problem.

Also, there's gotta be a ski area/town bar called the T-Bar, right? If not there sure should be!
You have to love the editor's lack of clue. There is a typo in the first sentence that makes the entire article nonsensical.
A 1700 foot t-bar is a short t-bar. Plattekill's t-bar was about 3000ft. A 1700ft t-bar at Murray Ridge with its 1685ft vertical would be the most insane ski lift on the planet. The actual length is 1700 METERS or 5580ft. :ROFLMAO:

"We're only halfway up the Red Lift when Al starts whining. I have empathy. He's a snowboarder and yesterday we lapped North America's longest T-bar, the 1,700-foot-long main lift at Murray Ridge, a little-known community hill in the middle of British Columbia. Today we're two hours south, sliding up the second-longest T-bar in North America. And while Troll Mountain's Red Lift may be a little shorter, its track is steeper and more sustained."

Does he mean 1700 vert?

Someone needs to proof my reading too.

There’s most likely lots of ‘em.

T-Bars have there place for getting folks up a slope.
Ya get to ski up too but it’s low and slow. Doesn’t make ‘em bad.

Not necessarily slow. Assuming people know how to load and unload. :)

" . . .
Another reason for this application is speed; every T-Bar built since 2011 can move at least 550 feet per minute, significantly faster than most fixed-grip chairlifts.

If you have skied at Jay, you might have ridden the Jet Chair. Imagine the Jet T-Bar, steep and unforgiving. As a teenager, I would ride that with my ski school buddies and we would sometimes pull the T from under the bum of an unsuspecting rider. A kind if bowling alley effect would ensue. Good times.

LOL , T bars are for the young legs old farts ride chairs . Last time I rode a T bar was the Loaf to avoid crowded chairs during peak . I must admit it was painful but loved the steep climb and much better than waiting with the cattle .

T bar Flashbacks....I was on a T bar as kid that de roped my one friend was a complete jerk and would do " Sling shots " Pizza maximum hold it till the spring bottomed and French fries for a forward acceleration. Later that night he decided to add a Zig Zag ...... Lift de roped !@##$$%^&8.bull wheel snags and flips ...Holy Shit, nobody hurt thank God !
