I can't imagine this can ever succeed. From the map it looks like they want to develop all that land on the shore of the Ausable above upper Jay. One good hundred year flood would take it all out pretty quickly...that and the environmentalists will keep it tied up in courts for years...decades

Agreed, I think it's a long shot also. Between the APA and the river. The hurricane a few years ago devastated Jay. Ice jams too.
 
Never made it to Land of Makebelieve; however, I remember going with my family to Enchanted Forest in Old Forge in the late 60s. Was that also an Arto Monaco creation? It looks similar.

I see that Enchanted Forest is now a highly-rated water park.

Went to North Pole NY on vacation with the family once in the early to mid 60s. It’s one of Arto’s.
I remember the reindeer.
