The Double Chair Podcast is live

Someone suggested moving to YouTube vids. Video might get a lot more involved. Fancy backdrops, or coordinating to film on location?

I'm a radio guy; I don't own a TV. So I like the podcast.
Hard to watch a YouTube video while driving. ;)

Listened to Episode 2 a couple evenings ago while packing up to check out of slopeside lodging at Taos. Enjoyed the content . . . and the voices.

I listened to the Harvey episode so far. I liked it! Both your guys voices are fine.

Since you asked for honest feedback, the thing I’d want to tighten up would be flow and transitions in the conversation. I don’t think I would ever be very good at pod casting but if I were to try I think I’d prepare and outline with questions and transitional sentences jotted down. I’d do a bunch of research to help guide conversations into interesting facts, experiences and history. I’d probably also share that with everyone else some time before recording so they can do their own research and hopefully add to the topics etc. I think I could spend 4-5 hours putting that together.

You’re off to a good start Brownski and there’s always room to improve. If it were super easy right out of the gate it wouldn’t be worth doing imho.

Yer hired!
@raisingarizona discussing his topics would be very interesting.
Where would ya start?

Listened to Pete’s today. Twas good. (y)

I started a Substack too. Not sure why. Probably just the angst of being an empty nester (seasonal)

I’m gonna try to write something creative once a week. It probably won’t be TRs in the traditional ski forum sense. My first one is based on Theodore Rosevelt’s The Man in the Arena- but if Teddy was a dirtbag
I’ll just paste it in here but if anybody is on Substack I would appreciate a follow of course.

It is not the blogger who counts, not the internet hero who points out where the groomer left a scar, or where the snowmaker could have piled up more snow. The credit belongs to the liftie , whose beard is caked with icicles, who strives, who remembers to look up the line after every bump, who errs, who nods off in the top shack, who comes up short (on rent money) again and again. Because there is no fresh corduroy without effort, error and shortcoming. But the Ski Patroller who does actually strive to do the deeds, whose stoke meter is always at eleven, who knows great enthusiasm, great devotion. The snowmaker who goes boldly out into the howling winds when the wet bulb drops whether at twelve noon or at midnight, who spends a twelve hour night shift in a worthy cause, who at best knows the sublime ecstasy of snaking first tracks on a powder day and who at the worst, if he (or she) fails, at least fails while daring greatly in icy crud on sweep, so that his (or her) place shall never be with those cold timid weekend warriors who know neither victory or defeat because they’re back in the lodge at two, sipping hot chocolate and wiping buggers off the faces of whining toddlers.
