In 1964 Peek’n Peak was built in the snowbelt on the Chautauqua Ridge in far southwestern NY, where more than 200” of snow falls on the hill each winter.
Otto Schneibs of Lake Placid designed the Peek’n Peak trail map, using the 400’ vertical drop to best advantage. Originally Peek’n Peak featured a J-Bar and a T-Bar serving six trails. In that first season lift tickets were $4.50 on weekends, $3 for the beginner area, with a $0.50 discount for weekdays. The main lodge was built, but was less than half the size of the ski lodge today.
Today Peek’n Peak is a four season resort offering year-round fun for families, couples, friends and groups. Snow groomers and snow guns make snow throughout the winter season. Skiers and snowboarders enjoy 27 lighted ski trials, state-of-the-art chair lifts, and terrain parks are available for every skill level.
The resort features a championship golf course, a luxury day spa, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, and Peak Mountain Adventures that includes the Aerial Adventure Course and Giant Dual Ziplines, Segway Tours, Miniature Golf, and The Soaring Eagle Zipline. The 108-room Inn at the Peak offers luxury accommodations, and condo rentals are also available for guests and large groups.
